March 15 20,000 Armenians in the city of Aleppo are reported to be in dire need.


March 15 The Turkish government declines U.S. emergency assistance to Armenian survivors.


March 26 Ernst E. Cristoffel, a German missionary in Malatia, who witnessed the massacres and the deportations, estimates that about one million Armenians have been murdered.


April 1 12,000 deportees are murdered in Buseira, near Der Zor.


November 5 The Interior Ministry orders the deportation of all railway workers, who have so far been spared.
