February A court martial is set up in Constantinople to deal with war crimes.
February 6 Dr. Reshid, the former Governor-General of Diyarbekir and one of the major war criminals commits suicide.
April 12 The Yozgat trial condemns Kemal Bey to death for his implication in Yozagt-massacres and he is hanged in public.
May 19 Mustafa Kemal arrives at Samsun as Inspector General of the armed forces in Central Anatolia. Here he begins the preparations for the upcoming nationalist struggle. Former Ittihadist leaders and war criminals begin to join him and the Nationalist movement.
May 28 The Republic of Armenia declares the unification of the Turkish and Russian Armenia.
June 10 Enver, Jemal, Talaat and Dr. Nazim are sentenced in absentia to death by war trial for their war crimes and involvement in the Armenian massacres.
August 13 Halil Pasha and Kuchuk Talaat, both accused of war crimes, escape from Constantinople and join Kemal's followers.
